Role Overview

As a Communications and Programme Support Intern, you will collaborate with the WBA Communication and Programme teams. Your role will encompass public advocacy, research, programme coordination, events management, and managing social media channels. You will also craft publicity materials, promote publications and impact stories, and support broader programme activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate periodic analytics reports to enhance performance strategies.
  • Create high-impact social media content, including infographics, GIFs, and videos, to engage external audiences and support advocacy efforts.
  • Craft publicity and communication materials such as PowerPoint presentations, speeches, blogs, and stories, and develop marketing plans for knowledge dissemination.
  • Monitor current events and trending topics to identify strategic opportunities for WBA engagement and increased visibility.
  • Support various activities related to the WBA programme.
  • Assist the Programme team with the implementation of regional activities, including partner support, event organization, and report preparation.
  • Conduct research and monitor LGBTI inclusion and rights issues in WBA’s focus countries in Africa.
  • Update tools, collect data, and report on programme success metrics.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders, including parliamentarians, senior civil servants, NGOs focused on the SDGs, religious leaders, and influencers.
  • Facilitate knowledge building and dissemination of products generated by the HHD regional team and its partners, including supporting translations and reviews.
