Job Description: Intern – Technology in Teaching and Learning Assessment at University of the Free State
The University of the Free State (UFS), located at its Bloemfontein Campus, invites applications for a 1-year contract internship position within the Blended Learning Innovation Support and Services (BLISS) under the Centre for Teaching and Learning. This role focuses on enhancing technology-driven teaching and learning, specifically in the area of digital assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing e-assessment activities, including creating assessment question banks and scheduling assessments on UFS’s online platforms.
- Support the development of training materials tailored for objective assessments.
- Contribute to the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of training sessions for students and academic staff.
- Participate in data collection, analysis, and report writing related to assessment activities.
- Provide ongoing support to students and academic staff using the UFS online assessment systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or B-Tech degree at NQF Level 7.
- Candidates must not currently be involved in other learnerships or internships and should have no prior formal work experience.
- Willingness to sign a learnership/internship agreement and commit for 1 year.
Recommended Skills and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- Previous experience as a Student Assistant, Tutor, EduTech Buddy, or Teaching Assistant.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and assessment platforms.

- Strategic thinking with attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Business acumen including adherence to regulations and proficient use of MS Office.

Additional Information
The internship commences on 1 June 2026, with a monthly stipend of R9,497.50. The closing date for applications is 10 April 2026.
