We are currently seeking a Shipping and Logistics Intern based in our Johannesburg Sales Office, Gauteng. This role supports logistics controllers with daily administrative tasks essential to ensuring smooth import operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipping Documentation & Import File Administration: Manage documentation necessary for lawful and efficient import activities. Open new import files, print supporting documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and import permits. Generate shipping line import submission documents, prepare container pallet markers for warehouse deliveries, and produce copies required for Edward Snell bond processing.
- Government Agency Processes & Compliance: Prepare and submit Other Government Agency (OGA) documentation after customs entry, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and import permits. Generate extended detention documentation and Port Health Guarantees. Upload government agency releases to customs operating systems, liaise with government bodies for shipment clearances, prepare files for Port Health final release, and process Import Declarations & inspection requests on Department of Agriculture Wine Online system.
- Logistics Administration & Records Management: Verify warehouse Goods Received Voucher (GRV) confirmations against import files, generate RGBC GRVs, scan and upload import documentation to the Logistics intranet filing system, and prepare import files for Metro archiving.
