Graduate Internship Programme for Cape Town Self Service Centres – Companies & Intellectual Property Commission

What is the Internship?

As outlined by Cabinet in December 2002, the internship programme is a public service graduate work experience initiative aimed at unemployed South African graduates. This programme provides valuable workplace exposure and practical application of skills acquired through higher education.

Beneficiaries of the Internship Programme

  • Unemployed South African graduates holding completed degrees or diplomas from accredited institutions.
  • Graduates with no prior work experience relevant to their field of study.
  • Applicants aged between 18 and 35 years.
  • Internship placements based in Cape Town (CIPC Self Service Centres).

Application Requirements and Important Notes

Applicants must carefully read this notice before submitting their applications. It is mandatory to upload an updated CV, South African ID, and the relevant qualification documents under the “supporting documents” section. Failure to upload accurate documents or uploading them in incorrect sections will result in automatic disqualification.

Remuneration and Programme Duration

The internship offers a monthly stipend of R12,000.00 and will run for a period of 24 months. Successful interns will be required to sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement.

Commitment to Youth Skills Development

The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC), under the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dti), is dedicated to youth skills development by providing graduates the opportunity to gain practical work experience that complements their academic studies.
