Job Description
Sasria is seeking a Claims Learner to process and handle claims within delegated authority, ensuring validity, assessing liability, negotiating settlements, and delivering excellent customer service while maintaining cost containment. The role requires managing claims within a governed framework to ensure compliance with short-term insurance regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform administration functions including registration of new claims and authorizing payments.
- Examine and validate new claims and related documentation.
- Adjust claims ensuring alignment with Sasria policy cover.
- Ensure receipt of appropriate supporting documents and verify calculations.
- Maintain document diary on IMS system and update reserves per reserving policy.
- Exercise judgment to analyze claims exposure and settle claims within delegated authority.
- Approve claims after verifying all documents and policy validation.
- Escalate complex claims to Supervisor.
- Manage external resources handling claims in accordance with Sasria procedures.
- Regularly update system notes to reflect claim status.
- Inform underwriting of gaps in cover, omitted documents, and premium changes.
- Promptly handle customer enquiries and queries in line with policy.
- Negotiate claim settlements and liaise with agents and brokers on claim progress.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as required by the Line Manager.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Matric certificate.
