South African National Parks Internship Programme 2026 – Garden Route National Park

Job Description

South African National Parks (SANParks) is the leading conservation authority managing 3,751,113 hectares of protected land across 20 national parks. SANParks operates under the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act, Act 57 of 2003, and invites applications from unemployed graduates to join their Internship Placement Programme for a period of one (1) year at Garden Route National Park.

This internship offers a monthly stipend of R6,355.69. Please note that SANParks is under no obligation to offer permanent employment upon completion of the programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in conservation, management, and administrative support within SANParks projects.
• Engage in practical learning activities relevant to your field of study.
• Support operational functions aimed at the protection of South Africa’s national parks.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

• Unemployed graduate aged between 18 and 35 years.
• South African citizen resident within the Eastern Cape Province.
• Completed a Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma (NQF level 6 or 7) from a Public Higher Education Institution (HEI) in South Africa.
• Must not have been previously employed nor participated in any internship or placement programme.

Salary

R6,355.69 per month
