Nova Pioneer is a leading network of schools dedicated to developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century. We are seeking dynamic, passionate, and innovative Student Psychologists to join our Psychosocial Team (PST) as interns for 2027.

Our Psychology Internship program is designed to foster the growth of high-quality psychologists committed to excellence in mental healthcare within educational settings. Interns will gain valuable experience working in a forward-thinking school environment, engaging in individual therapeutic work, assessments, group interventions, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of Nova Pioneer’s assigned educational psychologists acting as site supervisors.
  • Provide individual therapeutic interventions, including play therapy and trauma support for students from Grade 00/000 to Grade 12.
  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments and write professional, psychometrically sound reports.
  • Deliver learning support and remedial interventions to primary school students.
  • Facilitate workshops, group interventions, and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programs focused on prevention and psychoeducation for students, staff, and parents.
  • Attend Student Support Team (SST) meetings and collaborate within a multidisciplinary student support framework.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold the highest level of professional and ethical conduct in line with HPCSA guidelines.
  • Work full-time, including school holidays per HPCSA internship requirements, with leave allocated according to contractual standards.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and the wider educational team to ensure holistic psychological support.
