Nova Pioneer is a network of schools committed to developing generations of innovators and leaders to shape the African Century. We are seeking dynamic, passionate, and innovative student Psychologists to join our Psychosocial Team (PST) as interns in 2027.
This Psychology Internship provides a valuable opportunity to train and develop high-quality Psychologists dedicated to delivering mental healthcare excellence in educational and related settings. Interns will gain diverse experience working in an innovative school environment, including individual therapeutic interventions, psychoeducational assessments, group interventions, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of Nova Pioneer’s assigned educational psychologists serving as site supervisors.
- Fulfill a full-time internship as per HPCSA requirements, including working through school holidays with leave allocated per HPCSA and school contract guidelines.
- Provide therapeutic interventions such as play therapy and trauma support to primary and secondary school students (Grade 00/000 to Grade 12).
- Deliver learning support and remedial interventions for primary school students.
- Conduct thorough psycho-educational assessments and write professional, psychometrically sound reports.
- Facilitate workshops, group interventions, and Social and Emotional Learning sessions focusing on prevention and psychoeducation for students, staff, and parents.
- Attend Student Support Team (SST) meetings, collaborating within a multidisciplinary student support framework.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold the highest professional and ethical standards as per HPCSA guidelines.
- Collaborate in case management and consult with parents and teachers across Nova Pioneer campuses.
