Love Your Job (Pty) Ltd., based in Verulam, KZN, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team on a one-year internship. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the production plant delivers quality products through rigorous testing and providing essential management support. This position involves reviewing formulations, making necessary adjustments, and strictly adhering to SOPs, GMP, and ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze intermediate and finished products from production plants, R&D, ageing material, and Tollers using HPLC, GC, and various wet chemistry techniques such as pH, Karl Fischer moisture, particle size, and wet sieve.
- Ensure all products meet specified quality standards and comply with ISO guidelines and formulations.
- Guide plant personnel regarding process controls, formulation adjustments, and re-formulations as a Plant Coordinator.
- Provide technical information for product development to maintain product integrity and minimize risks.
- Oversee laboratory functions including documentation, stock control, sample analysis, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Enforce environmental, health, and safety regulations within the laboratory.
- Make recommendations on product quality to various departments.
- Record all observations related to product manufacturing and testing.
- Maintain detailed inventory of all product testing activities.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Chemistry or BSc in Chemistry.
- Grade 12 certificate.
- 1 to 2 years of laboratory experience.
- South African citizenship.
- Ability to provide all educational certificates upon request.
- Availability to commit to the full one-year internship period and start immediately.
