Job Purpose
This 12-month onsite learnership at Unilever’s Indonsa Factory in Newlands, South Africa, focuses on training candidates in automated packaging operations. The programme develops skills in packaging, mechanical maintenance, health and safety compliance, and effective communication for line coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general line operations and cleaning activities according to operational plans.
- Conduct pre-start-up checks to ensure equipment and area cleanliness and safety per SOPs.
- Monitor product and packaging quality, reporting faults promptly.
- Identify process abnormalities and take corrective action to prevent escalation.
- Clean machinery following manufacturer and site guidelines.
- Prepare and check raw materials for production use.
- Maintain personal and team safety on the production line.
- Contribute to an eco-efficient and sustainable work environment.
- Comply with all learnership requirements including assessments, logbook completion, and assignments.
Required Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate (Matric) with passes in Mathematics and Science, or
- N2/N3/N4 Engineering qualification.
