Job Description

Globeleq, a leading Independent Power Producer in Africa with over 20 years of experience, is seeking a Talent Acquisition Intern to join their HR department based in Cape Town, South Africa. The company operates 16 power plants across 7 countries with nearly 1500MW of generation capacity and is actively expanding with over 488MW under construction and more than 2,000MW in development. Globeleq is majority-owned by British International Investment and Norfund, and specializes in diversified energy technologies including gas, wind, solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS), hydro, and geothermal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and posting job descriptions on internal and external platforms using the Applicant Tracking Management System (Pinpoint).
  • Support scheduling and coordination of interviews, assessments, and presentations.
  • Monitor candidate applications and ensure timely communication to maintain a positive candidate experience.
  • Contribute to recruitment reporting and analytics, preparing data summaries and tracking KPIs including Diversity & Inclusion metrics.
  • Provide administrative support in managing recruitment partners and agencies.
  • Assist with reference checks and compliance processes, including GDPR requirements.
  • Participate in talent mapping and research projects to anticipate future hiring needs.
  • Learn and apply Globeleq’s interview tools and support training initiatives for hiring managers.

Internship Overview

This 12-month internship offers hands-on experience with end-to-end recruitment processes, candidate management, and the use of modern recruitment technologies. The successful candidate will develop skills in project coordination, recruitment analytics, and professional communication while supporting Globeleq’s Employee Value Proposition and talent acquisition strategies.
