System Engineer Job

Job Description

BCX is seeking a skilled System Engineer specializing in Active Directory to join our CPS Business Unit within the EIS Department. This role reports directly to the Manager of the Active Directory Center of Excellence (COE) and is classified at Job Grade/Level S5. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, monitoring, testing, and maintaining cloud and infrastructure solutions, providing specialized technical support, and guiding high-level analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving for client-specific projects.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

  • Serve as the customer-facing interface between the customer/account and third parties.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for service delivery complaints across all priority levels with support teams.
  • Oversee Service Management, Service Operations, and Service Reviews to ensure adherence to service standards in line with service level agreements (SLAs) and drive continuous service improvement.
  • Manage Due Diligence reports and proposals for new clients.
  • Assist in recommending product sets and defining the go-to-market strategy in support of company objectives.
  • Provide active support and maintenance of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft Identity Management infrastructure, ensuring alignment with quality standards and operability as defined within negotiated SLAs.
  • Create and maintain technical infrastructure standards and procedures.
  • Evaluate operational compliance and assist in audit reviews.
  • Participate in technical design and assist in defining thresholds for monitoring and support.
  • Identify and manage risks proactively.
  • Collaborate to optimize engagement between BCX Divisions and enhance relationships with customers and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • NQF 6: 3-year Degree/Diploma/National Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science OR NQF 4: Grade 12

Experience

  • 5 years’ experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Identity Management, and Azure Active Directory OR
  • 7 years’ experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Identity Management, and Azure Active Directory.

Certifications

  • Azure Certification
  • Active Directory Certification
  • Enterprise Architecture Certification

Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry

Engage with similar levels and various stakeholders within and outside BCX.
