National Certificate in Gaming Technical & Floor Assistant Programme

This accredited programme offers unemployed candidates an opportunity to earn a Certificate in Gaming Technical & Floor Assistant at NQF Level 3. The 12-month learnership provides valuable workplace exposure within the gaming industry, enhancing employment prospects. Candidates must be prepared to work in both smoking and non-smoking environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly with a friendly smile and eye contact, ensuring respectful interactions.
  • Assist guests by responding to queries and providing support.
  • Perform cleaning, servicing, replacement, and testing of minor components of EGMS, gaming kiosks, displays, card readers, keypads, iView screens, note acceptors, EGM bases, gaming table equipment, signage, cashiering equipment, marketing, and promotional equipment as per the work output task register.
  • Manage clean-ups and relocate equipment as required.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe workshop environment.
  • Clean, store, and secure equipment appropriately.

Qualifying Criteria

  • Matric certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Valid South African ID.
  • English language proficiency (passed).
  • Ability to work shifts and in smoking areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Well-presented and articulate.
  • Self-motivated with high initiative and drive.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle equipment/tools.
  • Willingness to work shifts as per operational requirements.

Skills and Competencies

  • Eligibility to obtain a gaming license.
  • Knowledge of gaming components.
  • Emotional resilience.
  • Effective listening skills.

Additional Information

  • Appointment subject to KwaZulu-Natal Gaming Board licensing.
  • Sun International reserves the right not to make an appointment.
  • This is a learnership programme; no guarantee of permanent employment is implied.
  • Successful completion of the learnership and availability of suitable vacancies are required for potential employment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act and internal policies.
