South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) Internship and TVET Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme 2026

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the Internship and TVET Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme 2026. This initiative aims to provide valuable workplace experience, skills development in the public sector, and monthly stipends to enhance employability.

About the SASSA Internship and WIL Programme 2026

  • Graduate Internships: 24 months duration
  • TVET Work Integrated Learning (WIL): 18 months duration
  • Monthly stipends for both programmes
  • Focus on structured workplace experience and skills development

Programme Duration and Monthly Stipends

  • Graduate Internship: 24 months, R7 860.50 per month stipend
  • TVET WIL Programme: 18 months, R5 639.75 per month stipend

  • Information and Communication Technology: National Diploma / BTech / Degree in ICT (Ref: SASIn – 01)
  • Legal Services: LLB Degree (Ref: SASIn – 02)
  • Human Capital Management: HR Management / Public Administration / Business Administration (Ref: SASIn – 03)
  • Financial Accounting: National Diploma / Degree in Financial Accounting (Ref: SASIn – 04)
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Forensic Investigation / Compliance Management (Ref: SASIn – 05)

SASSA TVET Work Integrated Learning Programme

TVET learners with N6 qualifications are encouraged to apply in the following fields:

  • Industrial Engineering
  • Management Services
  • Management Assistant
  • Financial Accounting
  • Business Studies
  • Public Administration

WIL Placement Locations in KwaZulu-Natal

  • Durban District (Nsimbi and Urban Local Offices)
  • Ulundi District (Mbazwana Local Office)
  • Midlands District (Weenen Local Office)
  • Pietermaritzburg District (Camperdown Local Office)
  • KZN Regional Office (units including Finance, ICT, Legal Services, Customer Care, Executive Support)

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizenship
  • Age between 18 and 35 years
  • Unemployed status
  • Meet qualification requirements for selected programme
  • Submit a completed Z83 application form
  • Provide a detailed CV
  • Include correct reference number in the email subject line
