Job Description

Job Overview

• Job Title: Cleaner
• Department: South African National Defence Force (SANDF) / Department of Defence
• Type: Permanent or Contract (depending on the post)
• Location: Various military bases across South Africa
• Salary Range: R6,000 – R10,000 per month (depending on experience and location)

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning offices, halls, corridors, kitchens, and ablution facilities
• Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors
• Washing windows and maintaining cleanliness of military vehicles and equipment areas
• Emptying bins and ensuring proper waste disposal
• Maintaining and organizing cleaning supplies and equipment
• Reporting maintenance or repair needs to supervisors
• Following strict hygiene and safety protocols within SANDF facilities
• Assisting in setting up venues for official events or parades when required

Minimum Requirements

• South African citizen with a valid ID document
• At least Grade 10 – 12 or an ABET certificate (Level 1–4)
• Physically fit and capable of performing cleaning duties
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Punctual, reliable, and honest
• No criminal record or pending cases
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays if required
• Previous cleaning or maintenance experience is an advantage but not mandatory
