Internship Job Profile at Construction Education & Training Authority (CETA)

Interns at CETA will be actively involved in various functional tasks to gain comprehensive practical experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing entry-level functionary tasks for the unit.
  • Handling correspondence and inquiries while maintaining the unit’s records and files.
  • Providing administrative support during the coordination of the unit’s budgeting processes.
  • Assisting with information gathering for audit preparations.
  • Collating data and preparing monthly and quarterly reports for the units.
  • Executing all delegated functions assigned by supervisors and managers.
  • Preparing meeting agendas and taking meeting minutes.
  • Assisting in preparing at least one presentation per quarter, or as required.
  • Participating in rotational planning structured to expose interns to diverse tasks across different divisions within the department.
  • Undergoing formal progress reviews at least quarterly to assess development.

Core Competencies Developed

During the internship, interns will develop critical competencies including:

  • Understanding CETA as a corporate and public entity within the SETA landscape, including its purpose and mandate.
  • Gaining relevant theoretical knowledge related to the functional area or department where the intern is placed.
  • Acquiring basic knowledge of applicable regulatory laws, frameworks, Acts, guidelines, and policies such as the Skills Development Act, SDLA, PFMA, Tax laws, BBBEE, Employment Equity, and Affirmative Action.
