Rio Tinto’s South African operation, Richards Bay Minerals (RBM), invites applications for our 2026 Bursary Programme. We are seeking enthusiastic students pursuing studies in the following disciplines:
Rio Tinto Bursaries – Non-Core Disciplines
- Engineering: (Civil, Land Surveying, Industrial)
- Sciences: (Computer Science, Data Science)
- Social Sciences: (Community Development, Criminology, Psychology)
- Humanities: (Journalism, Media, Communication)
- Health Sciences: (Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine)
- Management Sciences: (Economics, Commerce, Finance)
- B.A: (Law, Safety Management)
Rio Tinto Bursaries – Core Disciplines
- BSC or BEng Engineering: (Extractive Metallurgy, Electrical, Mechanical)
- BSc Sciences: (Environmental Science, Geology)
Eligibility Criteria:
- South African citizen
- Students currently completing Grade 12 in 2025
- Average year mark maintained at a minimum of 65%
- Qualifying for financial assistance
