About Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI)
AHRI is an independent, transdisciplinary research institute based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, with a mission to improve health and well-being among under-resourced populations. The institute combines population, basic and translational, social, and clinical sciences to understand and improve health outcomes in South African communities.
AHRI collaborates with over 60 global institutions and works closely with local communities and South African academic, governmental, and policy stakeholders. With approximately 700 scientists, students, and staff, AHRI emphasizes training the next generation of African scientists and upholds values such as ubuntu, transformation, leadership, innovation, excellence, and collaboration.
