About the Role
Our client, a well-established engineering company specializing in mineral processing technologies, is looking for a Process Engineer Intern to support laboratory and pilot plant operations. This internship provides practical process engineering experience under the mentorship of senior engineers.
This position offers exposure to process test work, pilot plant operations, equipment commissioning, and process design support. It is an excellent opportunity for graduates aiming to gain valuable industry experience in the mining, minerals processing, and engineering consulting sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory & Pilot Plant Support
- Assist with control, maintenance, and preparation of laboratory and pilot plant equipment.
- Support assembly and preparation of pilot plants prior to testing campaigns.
- Assist with laboratory and pilot plant test work, including sample collection, analysis, and result collation.
- Ensure testing activities comply with approved engineering procedures and safety standards.
Process Engineering Support
- Assist with basic process engineering calculations under supervision.
- Support equipment sizing and selection activities.
- Help develop process flowsheets and P&IDs.
- Support compilation of laboratory and pilot plant test reports.
Commissioning & Project Support
- Assist preparation of equipment checklists, punch lists, and completion certificates.
- Provide support for commissioning activities at client sites when required.
- Help compile commissioning reports for senior engineer review.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Implement safety measures before energizing equipment in laboratory, warehouse or site environments.
- Verify operational status and calibration of test equipment before use.
- Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant industry standards.
General Engineering Support
- Provide administrative assistance to process engineering and sales teams as needed.
- Assist with technical documentation, reporting, and internal coordination.
- Support occasional marketing or technical campaign initiatives.
