Job Description

ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking skilled, motivated, and dedicated individuals to join the Black Rock Mine Operations, located 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. This opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to grow and develop within the mining sector through structured learnerships and skills programmes initiated by the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA).

Learnership and Skills Development

The learnership and skills programmes at ASSMANG are based on unit standards prescribed by the MQA. As learners demonstrate competence in these unit standards, credits are recorded on the MQA database. Upon completion of all relevant unit standards, learners receive a certificate issued by the MQA. A formal trade test is required to complete the learnership successfully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in learnership and skills development programmes aligned with mining sector requirements.
  • Complete prescribed unit standards and accumulate credits on the MQA database.
  • Prepare for and successfully complete the formal trade test at the end of the learnership.

Requirements

Plumber Learnership Qualifications

  • N2 qualification including the following subjects:
    • Mathematics (Not Mathematics Literacy)
    • Engineering / Building Science
    • Building Drawing
    • Plumbing Theory
  • Grade 12 certificate with Maths and Science (Required)
  • N2/N3 Engineering studies certificate (Required)
  • Valid Driver’s License CODE B/EB (Advantageous)
  • Must obtain Dover “B” Symbol (Required)
  • Pass the Technical Test Battery Assessment (Required)
  • English literacy with good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) (Required)
