Dis-Chem Pharmacies, a leading pharmaceutical retailer in South Africa, is seeking a Pharmacist Intern for their Vanderbijlpark store. This internship aims to equip learners with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical environment while promoting quality lifelong learning. The intern will take responsibility for patients’ medicine-related needs and ensure excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pharmaceutical care under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Assist in the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines.
- Help with the compounding and preparation of non-sterile and sterile medicines.
- Repackage medicines and manage stock distribution.
- Order medicines according to the Medicines Act.
- Accurately interpret prescriptions and provide instructions on the correct use of medicines.
- Maintain customer profiles and ensure accurate claims submission to medical aids.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem policies, health and safety regulations, and maintain housekeeping standards.
