Who Can Apply? (Minimum Requirements)

  • Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 plus NQF Level 6 qualification or higher (Diploma or Degree) in Agriculture or related fields, recognised by SAQA
  • Priority given to Limpopo-based unemployed graduates
  • Applicants must be entering a government internship/developmental programme for the first time
  • Excludes applicants with prior government internship experience exceeding 12 months (with a PERSAL number)

  • 50–55% women
  • 80% youth (18–35 years)
  • 20% graduates aged 36–40 years
  • 3% persons with disabilities

Additional Conditions

  • No private studies permitted during the programme
  • Willingness to work abnormal hours required
  • Fixed-term contract not exceeding 24 months

Key Responsibilities & Practical Exposure

This internship provides hands-on agriculture experience, including but not limited to:

  • Farm management support
  • Crop scouting and monitoring
  • Livestock disease control, dipping and dosing
  • Livestock identification
  • Spraying operations
  • Record keeping and reporting
  • Packaging, loading and off-loading produce
  • Marketing of agricultural products and identifying new markets
  • Supervising workers and assisting with farm and production plans
