Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing new fabrications
- Purchasing and allocating fabric (local and import)
- Ensuring fabric is purchased on time according to retail requirements
- Issuing and following up on purchase orders
- Managing administrative functions pertaining to the procurement process
- Keeping up-to-date knowledge on the latest fabric developments and trends
- Establishing and maintaining key relationships with fabric agents and mills
- Negotiating best prices and delivery dates with suppliers
- Managing stock fabric utilization in line with stock targets
- Compiling and maintaining up-to-date stock books
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant tertiary qualification (preferably Design, Clothing Production, or Fabric Technology)
Skills
- Fabric and trim knowledge
- Knowledge of a PLM system (advantageous)
- Knowledge of garment construction
