Health & Safety Intern – Fidelity Services Group (East Rand)
Fidelity Services Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking a motivated Intern to support the Health and Safety (SHE) department with administrative tasks and daily operational activities. This role provides hands-on experience in safety, health, and organisational development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of Organisational Development and Employee Wellness initiatives.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and health programs, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety and health training, incidents, inspections, and audits.
- Assist in investigating accidents, near misses, and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate safety and health training programs, including orientation, refresher courses, and specialized training.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure compliance with safety and health regulations and standards.
- Monitor and analyze SHE performance metrics and report findings to management.
- Assist in developing emergency response plans and conducting drills to test their effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and trends in safety, health, and environmental management.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team
- Knowledge of relevant safety and health regulations and standards
- Ability to multi-task and manage concurrent assignments
