Requirements for the Position
To be considered for the Cleaner / Household Worker Level 2 positions, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A minimum of Grade 10 (authentic school report) or relevant NQF level 2 or ABET Level 4.
- Skills: Ability to read and write. Good interpersonal relations and ability to work in a team.
- Experience: Working experience in the public service or in a cleaning environment is an added advantage.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Batho Pele Principles, Patients’ Rights, and the six ministerial priorities.
- Availability: Preparedness to work flexible hours, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Capability: Ability to deliver service under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cleaner / Household Worker Level 2, your duties will include:
- Cleaning windows, walls, carpets, and floors.
- Dusting and polishing office furniture and consulting rooms.
- Emptying bins and maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the clinic.
- Changing and washing linen.
- Serving tea and refreshments when necessary.
- Washing dishes, glasses, cutlery, and utensils.
- Operating cleaning equipment and using chemicals safely.
- Safekeeping and handling various aids used in cleaning the premises.
- Keeping cleaning materials and equipment clean and safe.
- Reporting any defects noticed.
- Performing other duties as instructed by the supervisor.
