About the Role: Data Capturer (12-Month Contract)

Wits Health Consortium is seeking a dedicated Data Capturer for a 12-month contract in Johannesburg, Parktown. The primary objective of this role is to accurately and promptly capture, manage, and maintain patient data within electronic health records.

Main Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain new patient records in the system.
  • Enter laboratory blood results into the electronic patient records.
  • Identify and rectify missing data, inconsistencies, and errors by following up or reporting as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Coordinator.
  • Generate and compile detailed reports as required.
  • Maintain and update existing patient files consistently.
  • Conduct daily data cleaning and quality control checks to ensure data integrity.
  • Verify the accuracy of manually entered data.
  • Review and compare patient histories and resolve any discrepancies with relevant parties.
  • Print and organize necessary documentation within patient files.
  • Timely capture data for assigned research studies.
  • Clean and sanitize data based on error reports for research projects.
  • Ensure all research activities are completed within designated timeframes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Matric certificate (Grade 12).
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in data capturing or administration.

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Proficient in basic computer operations and typing.
  • Experience with REDCap database and healthcare environments.
  • Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Demonstrated ability for fast and accurate data capturing.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working within a multidisciplinary team.
