Responsibilities:
- Register patients according to established standards.
- Assist patients in completing necessary medical forms, including medical insurances.
- Monitor and maintain clinical equipment, stationery, and medication.
- Inform patients of clinic procedures and manage patient records.
- Open new patient files according to standard procedures.
- Ensure patient information is accurate.
- Process medical aid payments.
- Manage patient flow through appointments as scheduled.
- Obtain medical reports when required.
- Maintain a clean reception area to safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Answer all incoming calls promptly, adhering to Dis-Chem standards.
- Utilize proper telephone etiquette when communicating with patients.
- Provide relevant and accurate information to callers regarding their inquiries.
- Document caller details for all calls received on the switchboard after the third call and email the relevant staff.
- Ensure accurate message-taking by repeating details to callers for confirmation.
- Ask appropriate questions to ensure correct message transfer.
- Transfer messages or calls to the correct personnel at all times.
- Assist walk-in guests in reaching the appropriate staff for meetings or deliveries.
- Provide customers with area codes, work telephone numbers, and other relevant information upon request.
- Ensure timely feedback is given to customers, guests, and callers regarding their queries.
- Assist patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
- Advise and assist patients regarding medical aid authorization procedures.
- Follow up with patients regarding any requested feedback.
