Key Responsibilities:

As part of the learnership, you will be involved in various tasks including:

  • Selling Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances.
  • Assisting in the preparation and compounding of non-sterile medicines, following approved procedures.
  • Managing inventory — unpacking, merchandising, and maintaining clean and organized dispensary and OTC (Over the Counter) shelves.
  • Interpreting prescriptions accurately, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Assisting in managing stock levels and organizing shelves to ensure medication expiry dates are monitored.
  • Handling call center scripts and customer service inquiries.
  • Supporting chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication authorization processes.
  • Providing health promotion and education to customers.

Requirements:

  • Matriculation certificate with Mathematics (Higher Grade) and Physical Science or Life Science obtaining at least a 50% average.
