Job Description: Civil Engineering Intern at Sappi
Sappi is offering a one-year Civil Engineering Internship for recent graduates holding a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering. This internship provides valuable, hands-on experience in civil maintenance at the Saiccor mill, guided by experienced mentors to support a smooth transition into the professional engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect buildings, roads, walkways, and water channels to identify maintenance needs.
- Plan and oversee the implementation of repairs and routine civil maintenance tasks.
- Assist in determining the quantities of materials required for projects.
- Monitor the work performed by civil contractors, with a focus on local supplier development beneficiaries.
- Provide contractors with instructions concerning safety regulations and work procedures.

Qualifications
- Grade 12/Matric certification.
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or B.Tech in Civil Engineering or the Built Environment.
- No prior experience required.
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
