Eligibility Criteria for Applicants:
- Minimum educational requirement: Grade 12 (Mathematics and Physical Science preferred)
- Age: Applicants must be 18 years or older
- Fitness: Must not have a fear of confined spaces or heights, and should be medically and physically fit
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team and manage stress
- Record: Applicants should have no criminal record
- Residency: Must be a resident within the City of Cape Town jurisdiction
- Employment Status: Only unemployed candidates will be considered
Physical Fitness Assessment:
- Height Reach: Must reach 1.9 meters
- Timed Run: 2.4 km run within 11 minutes for males and 13 minutes for females
- Strength and Endurance Tests: 30 push-ups and 30 sit-ups within 60 seconds each
- Load Carrying: Carry two 25 kg drums over a distance of 100 meters
