Role Overview
The General Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring that our stores operate smoothly and efficiently. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering outstanding customer service, loading and merchandising stock, accurate shelf price labeling, and maintaining cleanliness within your designated area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and assistance to customers regarding product selections and inquiries.
- Handle and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
- Merchandise bulk stock areas safely, adhering to the store layout plan.
- Ensure your area of responsibility is fully merchandised according to store layout and planograms.
- Maintain a clutter-free workspace, ensuring safe and easy access for customers.
- Accurately label shelves with correct pricing information.
- Complete required checklists during duty hours, including canteen and toilet/showers schedules.
- Comply with safety regulations (OHSA) by using safety gear and ensuring the safety of customers and staff.
- Ensure stock in your area is safely merchandised, allowing safe movement for customers and colleagues.
- Report any discrepancies or damaged stock to the Store Manager.
- Achieve set targets and maintain work standards as per company expectations.
- Implement best practice quality and standards as established by Cashbuild.
- Follow through on commitments and execute tasks reliably.
- Identify and address problems, seeking root causes when necessary.
- Resolve issues using relevant departmental information and escalate when required.
- Make informed decisions within company policies and set timelines.
