Requirements for the Position

To be eligible for the Auxillary Worker (Crèche) Level 3 position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Certification: Early childhood development (ECD) certificate, basic child minder certification, and first aid training.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a crèche environment.
  • Skills: Ability to work shifts, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion: Must have a passion for working with children, creativity, and innovation.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Batho Pele principles, customer care, health legislation, and the Child Act.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to cope with the physical demands of the position and long working hours.

Preference will be given to EPWP trainees and administrative interns who served and are still serving the Department according to Personnel Circular Letter 4 of 2017. Candidates will undergo medical surveillance as part of the selection process.
