ABSA Fellowship Programme 2026 – Scholarship / Bursary
The ABSA Fellowship Programme is a transformative initiative designed to foster entrepreneurship and leadership among young talent. This program empowers individuals to become changemakers in their communities and industries, aligning with Absa’s commitment to financial inclusion and sustainability. The fellowship equips future leaders with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to drive growth and innovation across Africa.
Every year, we select 50 applicants who demonstrate exceptional potential, passion, and purpose. The chosen fellows will emerge as leaders in either the private or public sectors or as entrepreneurs, prepared to make a positive impact in their communities, advance sustainability, and turn possibilities into reality.
Requirements:
We are seeking young, emerging leaders who meet the following criteria:
- Age: Between 18 and 25 years old.
- Academic record: A pass mark of 65% or higher is required. (Applicants may submit either their June 2025 preliminary results or final matric results.)
- Field of study: Applicants should be enrolling as a first-year undergraduate student at a public university in South Africa in 2026 and pursuing a degree in:
- Commerce
- Humanities and social sciences
- Science (including health science, but excluding medical or veterinary studies), Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
- Creative arts
- Digital/Data design.
- Important: The application must be submitted in the name of the prospective student who will be attending the tertiary institution, not in the name of a parent or guardian.

- Applications close on 10 September 2025. No late applications will be accepted, and applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
- The application must be submitted using the prospective student’s own details, including their name, email address, cellphone number, and other required personal information. Applications submitted in the name of the parent or guardian, or using their contact details, will not be accepted or considered.
- No correspondence will be entered into with parents or guardians. Data privacy regulations stipulate that we do not have approval to engage with third parties – even parents or guardians – regarding the application. The only third-party engagement permitted is with the service providers who facilitate the application process.
- Applications are open to all prospective students, not just children or relatives of Absa’s staff. No preference will be given; all applicants will be treated equally.
