Marketing Intern – Durbanville, Cape Town (Hybrid)

This 6-month contract role offers a salary range of R15,000 to R19,000 per month, negotiable based on experience. The position starts immediately and combines hands-on marketing experience with opportunities for career growth within a leading global FMCG brand.

Purpose of the Role

The Marketing Intern will support the marketing team with below-the-line activities, involving brand management tasks such as managing point-of-sale materials and ensuring timely delivery of in-store campaigns. Ideal candidates are creative thinkers passionate about marketing and eager to develop practical skills in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate trade marketing and in-store execution, including organizing tastings and managing logistics.
  • Assist with production and delivery of point-of-sale materials (POSM) and prizes.
  • Track promotional activity and pricing compliance across key retailers.
  • Coordinate artwork approval for retailer broadsheets and promotions.
  • Conduct store visits and provide photographic feedback and reports.
  • Support monthly business and performance reporting, including post-campaign reviews and ROI summaries.
  • Assist with ad hoc data analysis and competitor activity tracking.
  • Provide general administrative support such as organizing files, coordinating deliveries, and managing supplier communications.
  • Contribute to internal team projects as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (NQF 7).
  • At least 1 year of marketing experience in FMCG, Retail, or Manufacturing environments; internships or practical exposure are advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
