Job Description

The South African National Parks (SANParks) in partnership with CATHSSETA invites unemployed graduates to apply for a 12-month internship placement within SANParks and SANBI in the Cape Region. This internship offers a monthly stipend ranging from R6 335.69 to R9 088.37 depending on the applicant’s qualification level (NQF6 to NQF8).

The programme is designed for graduates who have completed their National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Honours Degree at a South African higher education institution and wish to gain practical experience in Human Capital Management within various National Parks including Agulhas, Table Mountain, and Tankwa Karoo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Human Capital Management functions within SANParks divisions.
  • Assist in implementing HR policies and processes aligned with SANParks standards.
  • Participate in workplace projects and contribute to organisational goals.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams across the designated National Park locations.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Honours Degree (NQF Levels 6, 7, or 8) in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Applicants must be South African citizens aged between 18 and 35.
  • Must be unemployed and not have previously participated in any public sector internship or placement programme.

Additional Criteria

  • Applicants must clearly specify their preferred work location and division in their application.
  • Must submit certified copies of Matric certificate, academic qualifications with transcripts, CV, and South African ID.
  • Willingness to secure own accommodation and transport if internship placement is outside current residence; SANParks may provide accommodation depending on availability.
  • Availability for assessment and interviews as scheduled by SANParks.
  • Applicants with foreign qualifications must have these evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
