Learnership and Skills Development
The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) has initiated learnerships, skills programmes, and qualifications tailored for the mining sector. These programmes are structured around unit standards. As learners demonstrate competence in the prescribed unit standards, credits are recorded on the MQA database. Upon completing all relevant unit standards, learners receive a certificate issued by the MQA. A formal trade test is required upon completion of the learnership.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete prescribed unit standards as part of the learnership programme.
- Participate in skills development and training sessions.
- Prepare for and successfully complete the formal trade test.
- Adhere to safety and operational standards at the Black Rock Mine.
