Internal IT Support Intern at NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute)
The Internal IT Support Intern at the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s IT operations. This internship provides practical, hands-on experience with hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, enabling interns to develop essential problem-solving and technical communication skills while assisting staff across NSRI’s volunteer network.
NSRI operates from 50 stations, satellite stations, and Lifeguard premises. Supported by approximately 1,500 volunteers, NSRI relies on effective IT systems to coordinate vital sea rescue operations. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to gain IT support experience in a dynamic, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to NSRI staff and volunteers across various locations
- Assist with hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance
- Support network connectivity and resolve IT-related issues
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure smooth IT operations
- Document support activities and contribute to knowledge base resources
Skills and Experience
- Basic understanding of IT hardware, software, and networking
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on customer support
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and volunteers
- Motivation to learn and contribute in a volunteer-driven organization
- Previous IT experience or education is a plus but not mandatory
