About Group Human Capital (HC)

The Employment Relations Practice is a key part of Group Human Capital (HC), providing specialist employee relations support to Old Mutual Limited. This practice equips line managers and HC teams to effectively engage with employees by managing contracts, policies, practices, and processes in line with labour legislation. It also focuses on risk management, technical training, and fostering sound employee relations with trade unions and employees.

Key Responsibilities for Graduate Intern – Employment Relations

  • Assist with administration related to Employment Relations (ER) and Employee Engagement (EE) functions
  • Manage the ER calendar for engagement forums
  • Provide secretariat and logistical support at engagement forums
  • Communicate with unions and internal stakeholders
  • Support case management for legal advisors
  • Assist in CCMA-related training and support
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Employment Relations team as required

Requirements

Old Mutual is looking for driven, ambitious top achievers who are self-motivated and determined to succeed. Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Recent graduate with a completed Degree in Human Resources (BHRM) or Law (LLB)
  • South African citizen
  • Strong competencies in collaboration, communication, customer focus, accountability, complexity management, and organizational savvy
