Purpose of the Role
Giesecke+Devrient is seeking a Finance Administrator to provide hands-on experience in financial analysis, inventory costing, and reporting. This role offers close collaboration with the Finance Manager to ensure accuracy in accounting entries and support critical financial processes. Ideal for young professionals, this opportunity is part of the Yes4Youth Program designed to build practical finance expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inventory costing and calculate hourly production rates.
- Attend stock counts and ensure accurate capture of results.
- Analyse inventory reports to detect discrepancies and identify slow-moving items.
- Prepare analyses comparing sales deals to actual financial performance.
- Assist with fixed asset verification and monthly account reconciliations.
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation.
- Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives.
- Perform other assigned tasks while upholding Quality, Trust, and Security standards.
Requirements
- Unemployed youth candidates aged between 18 and 34 (not turning 35 during the program).
- Compliance with the Broad-Based Black Empowerment Act 53 of 2003 (as amended by Act 46 of 2013).
- No prior participation in the Yes4Youth program.
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting or related field.
- Up to 1 year relevant experience with knowledge of accounting and costing principles.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and meet deadlines under supervision.
