Job Description
The Construction Health and Safety Consultant Internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to establish a career in construction OH&S. Interns will collaborate closely with senior consultants, gaining practical skills in site inspections, OH&S documentation, and regulatory compliance. This internship combines in-office training with on-site exposure, providing valuable real-world experience in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior consultants with site inspections and documentation reviews
- Compile OH&S reports, feasibility studies, and condition assessments
- Perform administrative tasks and adhere to instructions from consultants and management
- Apply OH&S policies and procedures aligned with project requirements
- Support client engagements and maintain accurate document control
- Travel to various construction sites as needed
- Occasional overtime or weekend work when required
Requirements and Qualifications
- SAMTRAC certification or equivalent OH&S qualification (mandatory)
- Completed training in Construction Occupational Health and Safety
- Up to 1 year of relevant, entry-level experience
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities
- Professional communication skills and appearance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good health and physical fitness
- Own reliable transport (essential)
- Willingness to travel, work hard, and learn from the ground up
