The Role at Black Swan
The datasets produced by Black Swan are the foundation of all our products. The Datasets team is responsible for the creation, refinement, and maintenance of these critical datasets. The Datasets Intern role is a unique blend of analyst, market researcher, and communicator, focused on understanding and enhancing both existing and new datasets. This consultative position involves partnering with clients and internal teams to anticipate needs and improve data quality.
This internship is part of Black Swan Data’s Accelerator Programme, designed to develop top talent over a three-year career trajectory within the Datasets team. During the six-month internship, you will gain hands-on experience in social data curation, data cleaning techniques, taxonomy creation and management, and converting social data into actionable consumer insights. You will also gain exposure to the wider Insights and Data Science departments within a fast-paced and collaborative work environment.
What You Will Be Learning
- Collaborate with the expert data analysis team to work with large datasets, refining and evaluating them to uncover valuable market insights.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to understand complex data requirements and translate them into actionable dataset parameters.
- Develop communication and teamwork skills by liaising with client-facing teams.
- Analyze datasets to identify optimization opportunities while maintaining data accuracy through routine validation.
- Master the use of cutting-edge software including Trendscope.
- Gain a deep understanding of industry domains and connect data trends with broader market movements.
