Finance Intern Positions – University of KwaZulu-Natal

The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is inviting applications for three Finance Intern positions within the Finance Division. This fixed-term contract opportunity lasts for 6 months and includes two posts located at the Westville Campus and one post at Pietermaritzburg Campus. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of R6,500.

The successful candidates will assist with the physical verification and tagging of the university’s movable assets, reporting directly to the Accountant in Budgeting, Reporting & Assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform physical verification of UKZN’s movable assets
  • Assist in tagging and accurately documenting asset information
  • Support the Finance Division with basic accounting and auditing tasks as required

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant three (3) year qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with physical verification of assets will be an advantage
