General Re Corporation, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., is seeking an Actuarial Student Intern for its Cape Town Branch. This internship is part of the Life Australia, UK, SA, Canada division and offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the reinsurance industry.
The internship program lasts for one year and is designed to empower interns within a highly productive environment. Interns will receive on-the-job training while collaborating with an established pricing team and actuaries across various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing quotations for new business and reviewing existing business for the group life business line.
- Supporting analysis and assessment of group life reinsurance portfolios for risk management, experience studies, planning, and quotation.
- Monitoring and providing management information statistics.
- Assisting in maintaining the Company’s pricing guidelines and pricing tools.
- Interacting with group life clients.
