Job Description

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs is offering an exciting internship opportunity. This position is based in Pretoria, with a stipend of R7,860.39 per month. We are seeking motivated individuals who are eager to gain experience in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in various departmental functions related to governance and traditional affairs.
  • Participate in project management and implementation activities.
  • Support the development and execution of community engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks and reporting.

Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Development Studies, or an equivalent qualification at NQF level 6/7 as recognized by SAQA.
  • Applicants should not have previously served as an intern or contract worker in the Public Service or Private Sector.

It is important to note the following:

  • Submit a comprehensive CV with specific starting and ending dates, current remuneration, and at least two recent contactable references.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be requested to submit certified documents before interviews.
  • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

All shortlisted candidates will undergo a technical exercise to assess relevant competencies. Following the interview, candidates will also participate in a generic managerial competency assessment, as mandated by the DPSA.

The successful candidate will undergo a pre-employment screening process, including criminal, credit, citizenship checks, and verification of educational qualifications. A probation period of 12 months will apply.
