Position Overview

The Agricultural Research Council is seeking a motivated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and contribute to various research projects. This role involves technical project planning, data collection, and laboratory analyses, among other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Together with the Project Manager, contribute towards projects by compiling and executing technical project activity plans.
  • Participate in sample collection and data capturing while adhering to proper data quality control protocols.
  • Conduct sample preparation and analyses, including DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and fragment analysis, following good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Assist in planning and preparation of farmer days and engagements.
  • Participate in the successful transfer of scientific technology, including compiling reports, oral and poster presentations, and popular articles.
  • Proactively provide technical input within the context of the research projects.
  • Contribute to research by rendering desired support to research staff and optimizing the utilization of resources in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Utilize and maintain facilities, apparatus, and equipment.
  • Provide ad hoc research assistance as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, seminars, and workshops.
