Midvaal Local Municipality: Internship Opportunity 2025 / 2026
Purpose: The training program is designed to equip candidates with practical local government accounting skills, aiming to qualify them for a position post-training.
Position Title: Financial Management Internship
Stipend: R 8,333.34 p.m. (all-inclusive package R100,000.00 p.a.)
Duration: 2 Years Contract
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the billing process (rates and service charges).
- Support customer care in the income section (handling customer queries and complaints).
- Provide cashiering assistance when required.
- Help complete National Treasury reporting templates.
- Assist in the compilation of reconciliations.
- Perform other administrative functions as needed.
- Support Expenditure and Supply Chain Management (SCM) related functions.
- Assist with Asset Management tasks.
- Contribute to Risk, Insurance Claims & Compliance matters.
Requirements:
- A 3-year National Diploma or Degree with majors in:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Risk Management
- Auditing
- or equivalent.
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of Windows spreadsheet applications.
