The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is inviting unemployed youth to apply for an entry-level government job.

Position Title: Secretary

Reference No: 25/27/MFLS

Stipend: R216,417 – R254,928 per annum

Location: Master of The High Court: Pretoria

Job Level: Grade 12 / Junior / Entry Level South African Government Jobs

Responsibilities:

  • Make travel arrangements and process travel and subsistence claims for the manager and unit members;
  • Provide effective and efficient secretarial services;
  • Handle general clerical office administration;
  • Coordinate unit activities, inputs, and compile various reports;
  • Manage the manager’s diary.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with typing as a subject, or a Secretarial Certificate, or any relevant training course/qualification;
  • Knowledge of financial, provisioning, and/or administration procedures and processes;
  • Understanding of office management procedures and processes;
  • Awareness of confidentiality in government and relevant legislation.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Computer literacy;
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Planning and organizing abilities;
  • Intermediate typing skills (ability to type at high speed and utilize software packages for advanced documents including tables and graphs);
  • Ability to accurately interpret relevant documentation;
  • Good interpersonal relations and customer service orientation.
