Rand Refinery: Internships for Logistics or Supply Chain Graduates

Position Title: Graduate – Final Storage and Dispatch

Duration: 18 months contract

Join Africa’s leading refiner, smelter, and fabricator of precious metals, and immerse yourself in a dynamic, hands-on learning environment. You will be guided by a structured development plan designed to provide practical experience while working alongside a dedicated, customer-focused team.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manual packaging of finished products after the completion of the quality process. This includes the following types of products: minted coins, blank coins, cast bars, wires, discs.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by tracking stock movements, performing regular stock counts, and updating storage systems to reflect real-time data.
  • Assist in performing quality checks on outgoing products to ensure they meet the company’s quality standards and handle discrepancies in stock or packaging.
  • Support the customer service team by providing accurate and timely information regarding order status, delivery times, and any potential delays.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the final storage and dispatch process and collaborate with the team to implement more efficient workflows and cost-saving strategies.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures are followed in the final storage and dispatch, including the safe handling of materials.
  • Ensure that products are accurately picked, packed, and labelled according to customer specifications and timelines.

Requirements

  • A completed Matric qualification.
  • Degree / BTech / Advanced Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

Skills and Competencies

  • Computer proficiency — MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SAP, SharePoint, Educos, and IsoMetrix.
  • Focus on results through quality and safety awareness, managing work, planning and organising, decision making, and customer focus.

NB: Must have acquired at least an overall average of 70% at tertiary level.
