Fly Fofa: Training Opportunities for Unemployed Youth 2025

Fly Fofa Aviation Training is offering training opportunities for unemployed youth. The program is aimed at Gauteng Province candidates and provides a full-time training experience that includes accommodation and a monthly stipend.

The following training programs are open for applications:

Advanced Pilot Training

Overview: This training program is designed to help commercial pilot students build their flight hours for enhanced employment opportunities. After completion, students will have increased chances of finding a job in the aviation industry. All flying hours will be scheduled and monitored, utilizing single-engine aircrafts for training.

Duration: 24 months (including accommodation and monthly stipend)

Requirements:

  1. Must be South African
  2. Must not be older than 25 years of age
  3. Must reside in Gauteng Province
  4. Must have a valid Commercial Pilot License
  5. Must have a valid Medical Certificate

Initial Cabin Crew Training

Overview: This program prepares flight attendants for dynamic roles in the aviation industry. It covers all theoretical, practical elements, and SACAA exams, leading to a Cabin Crew License that opens up employment opportunities with local and international airlines.

Duration: 12 weeks (full-time, including accommodation and monthly stipend)

Requirements:

  1. Must be South African
  2. Minimum age of 18 years and maximum of 23 years
  3. Must reside in Gauteng Province
  4. Must have completed Grade 12
  5. Must have obtained Level 5 in English
  6. Must be willing to undergo an Aviation Medical Examination
  7. Minimum height of 1.6m
  8. Highly motivated, safety-oriented, and culturally sensitive

Remote Pilot (Drone) Certificate

Overview: This comprehensive course prepares students to become certified drone pilots. It includes drone regulations, safe flying practices, and hands-on experience flying drones in a safe environment. Successful completion leads to a Remote Pilot Certificate.

Duration: 12 weeks (full-time, including accommodation and monthly stipend)

Requirements:

  1. Must be South African
  2. Age range of 18 to 23 years
  3. Must reside in Gauteng
  4. Must have completed Grade 12
  5. Must have obtained Level 5 in English
  6. Must have Level 4 in Mathematics & Level 5 in Mathematical Literacy
  7. Open to people living with disabilities
  8. Must be willing to undergo an Aviation Medical Examination
  9. Strong communication and decision-making skills
  10. Ability to multitask and good hand-eye coordination
  11. Safety-oriented and culturally sensitive

Private to Commercial Pilot License

Overview: This training program enables learners to transition from a Private Pilot License to a Commercial Pilot License through Night Rating, hour building, and Instrument Rating. Completion leads to obtaining a Commercial Pilot License, essential for flying commercial aircraft.

Duration: 24 months (including accommodation and monthly stipend)

Requirements:

  1. Must be South African
  2. Age range of 17 to 23 years
  3. Must reside in Gauteng
  4. Must have completed Grade 12
  5. Must have Level 5 in English and Mathematics; Physical Science is advantageous
  6. Must qualify for a Class II Aviation Medical
  7. Strong communication and decision-making skills
  8. Ability to multitask and good hand-eye coordination
  9. Safety-oriented and culturally sensitive
